COMING MAY 4TH
Heights Community is excited to introduce New City Catechism as our new curriculum in Heights Kids on Sunday mornings as well as in our weekly Missional Community gatherings for kids and adults. A catechism is a method of teaching that includes an oral element within a community. They are used both for our instruction and to instruct others. New City Catechism is comprised of 52 questions and answers designed to help us learn and understand the truths of scripture.
"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and be carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
Ephesians 4:11-14
As Paul says, we want to equip the saints in sound, biblical doctrine so we can be steadfast in our pursuit of the knowledge of the Son of God. New City Catechism is a great tool to help the saints do just that!
Here is how you can use New City Catechism in the life of Heights and on your own at home:
Download the NCC app and follow along with the weekly resources.
Play the songs with your kids.
Ask the weekly question with your family over dinner, before bedtime or in the car and discuss your answers and read the scripture.
Our prayer is that this resource blesses you as you continue to grow in the knowledge and joy of the doctrines of Scripture.
